| | Happy New Year | | Happy New Year! Despite the hostile arctic weather conditions we saw in the New Year with style and grace.......offering all of our guests a warm, friendly bed and welcome. 2010 is set to be an exciting year for the Rowan Tree Hostel and Ennis. We have many upcoming events to look forward to. Currently in the Hostel, we are hosting Irish set dancing lessons with Dick O Connell on Tuesday evenings from 6pm to 7pmfor all guests. On Saturday afternoons, in the spirit of encouraging local musical talent we have a Trad session in the dining room. The Ennis Book Club Festival (March 5th to March 7th) is looking to be a great success as always, our close proximity to the De Valera Library, its literally three doors down, and to Ennis town, makes us an excellent choice for quality value accommodation. Speakers include; Fiona Looney a columnist with the Irish Daily Mail and author of the play Dandelions, Lionel Shriver author of We Need to talk about Kevin, Tim Pat Coogan, and Paul Howard journalist and creator of the Ross O Caroll-Kelly column and book series. The full programme is available on www.ennisbookclubfestival.com. So for any bookworms out there make sure and look us up for a great and cheap hostel stay in Ennis February, of course, brings us Valentines Day, so whether you are looking for a romantic getaway or an anti-valentines party with the lads/ladies, there is sure to be plenty of craic to be had in Ennis. As we are the nearest hostel to Shannon Airport we are the perfect choice for a cheap weekend away. Rest assured there will be very few cheesy violin playing, cheap Rose selling, manufactured romancers here! To St. Patrick’s Day in March, possibly the most well-known date in the Irish craic calendar? Whilst the exact details of events and attractions in Ennis and Co. Clare have not been finalised yet, be assured that as soon as we receive the information it will be available on our blog, Facebook and Twitter pages. I can definitely confirm that as March 17th will be our first year Anniversary there will be celebrations and general mayhem aplenty....stay tuned for details!
